課程概述 |
This course starts from the introductory lectures for theory, concept and evidence-based practices of early childhood intervention, and continues with some advance classes for assessment, and outcome evaluation for children with developmental disabilities. Students will complete a systematic review report on topics relating to early childhood intervention, including policy, frameworks & theories, evidence-based practice, assessment and outcomes, effectiveness, and etc. |
課程目標 |
1. Be able to understand the concepts and content of early childhood intervention and holistic care for children in need. (Compassion caring and professional ethics)
2. Be able to understand the status of early intervention in Taiwan and in the western countries. (Global vision)
3. Be able to understand the roll of physical therapists in early intervention and the collaborative models in various settings. (Teamwork and leadership)
4. Be able to understand the knowledge of ICF-CY, Client Management model, assessment and intervention for infants and children, and cost-effectiveness analysis. (Knowledge and skills in specialty)
5. Be able to understand the evidence-based practice and related research of early intervention. (Scientific inquiry)
6. Be able to integrate the knowledge, to find and summarize the evidence of early childhood intervention programs. (Knowledge and skills in specialty)

課程要求 |
Final Report:
1. Each student is required to do a literature review on a topic relating to early childhood intervention, including policy, frameworks & theories, evidence-based practice, assessment and outcomes, effectiveness, and etc.
2. Oral report includes 25-minute ppt presentation and 8-minute discussion.
3. The final written report is due by 5:00pm Saturday 2014/1/11 (e-mail to Chen LC). The report should be typed in Chinese or English, font size 12, double-spaced, text no less than 10 and no more than 20 pages, formatted as the requirements of FJPT.
Grading:
Participation 60% (Compassion caring and professional ethics, Global vision, Teamwork and leadership, Knowledge and skills in specialty, Scientific inquiry)
Oral presentation 20% (Knowledge and skills in specialty, Scientific inquiry)
Written report 20% (Knowledge and skills in specialty, Scientific inquiry)
